Data protection: Working locally with Google Fonts
1 minute
There has been a lot of talk about Google Fonts in terms of data protection in recent months. We came up with a quite simple solution for you.
The reason for all the uncertainty surrounding the use of web fonts is a decision by the Landgericht München (Munich Regional Court) dated January 20, 2022 (3 O 17493/20). In this decision, the judges found that the dynamic integration of Google fonts without the prior consent of the visitors is contrary to data protection.
Using Google Fonts locally - this is how it works:
We simply cut the connection to Google by downloading the fonts and managing them locally in picturemaxx CMS. This means that there is no longer any danger of uncontrolled data being passed on. For further questions please contact us.
