First Steps

Everyone starts small. With our help, you'll be able to take the first steps to build and configure your website. You can start your page design using a template set up for you. This manual will explain the possibilities for your creative work based on the picturemaxx CMS. We've chosen some useful tools for you offered by the Drupal Developer Comunity, to start your work. 

This HowTo Manual will focus on the features provided by picturemaxx CMS. In case this manual doesn't answer your questions or you need additional features for your design you can contact picturemaxx Professional Service. If you wish to get additional information on Drupal you are welcome to browse the Drupal User Guide.

You can build as many pages as you like using different view options for your content. Some of the most common view options are shown and linked on this site below - just to give you a first impression.

To be able to take first steps you'll get some Initial Setup information. You're going to learn about CMS Menus and general settings concerning the Look & Feel of your sites. Discover how to set up Header & Footer and how to define Block Layout of your pages. Find all the information about website building in Create Website, Organise your media, and Website Administration.

You can navigate to these main areas of this manual using the menu on top of the page or at the bottom of this page and use the breadcrumb path on top as well. Thus, you've got various possibilities to find the tools you'd need to set up and present your content.

Image-optimised theming 

Our product is specifically designed for content providers – it offers responsive and flexible views, department pages, team member pages, different image slides, a contact page, marketing maps, news and publication pages, plus a newsletter registration form.

 

 

Creating different layouts and sites

Each type of content needs it's adequate presentation. Therefore you can easily choose from different image optimized layouts. Learn more about their characteristics and configurations in the area Paragraph Types. If you're already familiar with our display options have a look at the Content Types, which can be at least as important to have the best possible outcome for your website.

 

Working with text and media by using columns

With Columns, Text & Media you've got a column-based tool in your picturemaxx CMS admin panel. Using this tool is an easy way to present site thumbnails by adding pictures or icons to them.

 

 

Using slides

Slideshows are a great way to draw attention to your landing page. Slides can feature full-width images, and optionally include individual descriptions with each slide.

Slides are a good starting point on your website. An optional textbox gives you enough space to describe a photo collection connected to a slide. Optionally the text color switches to white when you apply a dark background.
